Fact tables
Overview
The Fact tables section allows you to create and manage fact tables within a project. Fact tables serve as central data structures that combine measures, dimensions, and dimension groups from the Register of measures and dimensions (RMD) to build a logical data model for analysis and reporting.
How to Access?
- The "Fact tables" menu item in the product navigation opens the fact tables management screen
- All users can view the list of fact tables for projects within their company
- The list of fact tables in a specific project is visible to all users working on that project
Prerequisites
- A project must be open to view or manage fact tables
- If no project is open, an empty list is displayed with the notification: "To work with fact tables, open or create a project."
Project version context
Work with fact tables always takes place within the context of a specific project version.
- Synchronization with RMD: Fact tables in the open project version are always built based on the RMD of that same project version
- Data display: The list displays only fact tables belonging to the currently open project version
- Switching versions: You can switch project versions. This action will simultaneously change the context on all project screens
