Fact table management

The main Fact tables screen displays a list of all tables in the current project version.

List Elements

For each fact table, the following is displayed:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Owner (the user who created the table)
  • Created at
  • Actions:
    • Rename
    • Delete

Working with the List

  • Filtering and search: Available for the NameDescriptionOwner, and Created at fields
  • Opening a fact table: Click on a table's name to open its configuration
  • Renaming a fact fable: Click the edit icon in the table's row to change its name or description
  • Deleting a fact table: Click the delete icon in the table's row to remove the table.
  • Creating a new fact table: The "Add fact table" button at the top of the list initiates the creation process

Creating a New Fact Table

To create a table, specify the required parameters:

Parameter Requirements
Name Must be unique within the project version. Case-sensitive. 1–64 characters. Allowed: letters, digits, space, .-_. Cannot start with a special character.
Description Optional. Up to 255 characters.

What happens after creation:

  1. An empty fact table is created in the current project version
  2. It immediately appears in the list for all users in the company
  3. The system automatically opens it for configuration

Renaming a fact table

  • Available via the "Rename" action in the list or in the "Configuration" section of an open table
  • Rules for the new name are identical to those for creation
  • In addition to the name, you can change the fact table's description
  • Changes are applied instantly for all users

Deleting a fact table

  • Available via the "Delete" action in the list
  • Requires confirmation, as the operation is irreversible and affects related objects
  • What is permanently deleted:
    • The table's configuration (name, description, selected elements).
    • All references to this table in created data marts.
  • What is NOT deleted:
    • The original measures, dimensions, and groups in the RMD
    • Metrics that were saved in the RMD
    • Copies of the table in other project versions
  • If a table is deleted while you are viewing it, the system will redirect you to the fact tables list with a corresponding notification
